Engineering cost for Corinth wastewater plant increased

CORINTH – The Corinth Board of Aldermen on Tuesday approved an increase in the engineering contract on a city wastewater treatment plant to include work not anticipated when the contract was first written in 2005.
The maximum cost for the additional work is not expected to raise the contract to more than $160,000, said Dave Huwe, director of Community Development and Planning. The original contract was for $50,000.
The additional services required under the contract result from more stringent state and federal clean water standards, including the requirement that the city begin treating water for phosphorus.
