Ex-game warden sentenced in DUI fatal crash case

STARKVILLE — A former state game warden who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal accident has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.

Ryan Crick of Louisville was sentenced Monday in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court.

The 27-year-old former Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks officer pleaded guilty on July 14.

The Jan. 25, 2008, crash killed 23-year-old Matthew Gaskin and 27-year-old Jessica Burks. Heather Kay McMillian was in a hospital for two months recovering from her injuries.

Judge Jim Kitchens sentenced Crick to 20 years each for aggravated DUI charges in the deaths of Gaskin and Burks, 15 years for an aggravated DUI charge in the injury of McMillian and 5 years for leaving the scene.
