Ex-music minister admits past sexual misconduct

CLINTON – A former music minister at a Clinton church has publicly admitted to past sexual indiscretions with teenage boys in Mississippi and Texas.
John Langworthy of Clinton told the congregation the contact occurred before he came to Morrison Heights Baptist Church 22 years ago. The Rev. Greg Belsor said the church and Langworthy decided it was in his best interest to step down. He resigned in May.
WAPT television in Jackson aired a video of a man identified as Langworthy making the admission Sunday.
There was no answer Wednesday at a phone listed under Langworthy’s name.
Langworthy also has resigned as choir director at Clinton High School. The school district said it learned of the Texas allegations last August. The district statement said Langworthy quit without admitting to the allegations.
