JACKSON – A 37-year-old former nursing home worker has been arrested on multiple counts of exploiting vulnerable persons.
Attorney General Jim Hood on Friday said Lee Ray Martin of Redwood is alleged to have obtained more than $101,000 from 83 residents of Shady Lawn Nursing Home and Vicksburg Convalescent Center.
Hood, in a news release, says at the time the crimes are alleged to have occurred Martin worked as the business office coordinator for both facilities.
She is accused of using her position to write checks from the resident trust fund/petty cash account, cashing the checks and converting the funds for her own use.
Investigators with Hood’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit booked Martin into the Vicksburg city jail. Bond was set at $75,000.
