BATESVILLE – Former Panola County administrator David Chandler must report to prison by 2 p.m. April 22.
Chandler, 58, pleaded guilty to a garbage collection scheme and also to embezzlement by paying himself overtime when he hadn’t worked.
He was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
He will begin to serve his sentence at the U.S. Federal Correctional Institution in Yazoo City.
U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock also ordered him to pay a $40,000 fine, $33,564 in restitution and conduct 200 hours of community service to Panola County.
Chandler was indicted in 2010 on 22 counts that he conspired and defrauded the county through the garbage scheme.
