PONTOTOC – Jaysen Hogue, a 27-year-old former Pontotoc church youth minister, faces four criminal counts of sexual contacts with a minor female.
Hogue was arrested Tuesday and posted $40,000 bond while he awaits a formal hearing on charges May 23.
A Pontotoc County grand jury indicted Hogue on May 3, but the charges did not become public until his arrest.
Hogue is accused of two counts of fondling and two counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 18 between October 2011 and Feb. 28, 2012.
The charges are aggravated by his being in a position of trust or authority over the alleged victim as her youth minister, the indictment claims.
The document has been altered to delete the minor’s name and date of birth, so it’s not possible to tell whether the charges are for alleged crimes against one minor or four.
If convicted, he could face lengthy prison time.
