FULTON – It seems the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department and MSU-Itawamba Extension Service, which have shared the same building for years, will be parting ways.
The MSU-Itawamba Extension Service will move out of the building it currently shares with the county sheriff’s department (located on East Wiygul Street in downtown Fulton) and relocate to a renovated space inside the old gym at the empty Fulton Grammar School. This will open up that side of the building for use as storage and office space for the sheriff’s department.
The Itawamba County School Board has agreed to lease the space at a nominal fee to the county for use by the Extension Service. The Itawamba County Board of Supervisors will be presented with the lease Feb. 18.
