FAA gives go-ahead for Tupelo runway extension

The Tupelo Regional Airport got good news from the Federal Aviation Administration today.

A much-anticipated “Finding of No Significant Impact,” or FONSI, was announced today on the proposed runway extension project.

The FONSI report basically means the FAA gives a thumbs up for the project, which will add 650 feet to the north end of the runway.
