Falkner man faces child pornography charge

RIPLEY – The Ripley Police Department Investigator & TCSO Investigator executed a search warrant on CR 410 in Falkner Tuesday, March 27, according to Chief Scott White and Sheriff Karl Gaillard.

Jerry T. Jeter Jr., 31, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography.

Jeter is now out on a $5,000 bond according to Tippah County jail records.

Jeter’s case has been referred to the Tippah County Grand Jury, which will decide whether to indict him.

Mississippi Code 97-5-33 states that no person shall possess, produce, send, receive or distribute any material depicting a child under 18 years of age engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Any person who violates any provision of this law shall be guilty of a felony and upon conviction shall be fined $50,000 – $500,000 and shall be imprisoned for five – 40 years for each count.

Ripley Police Department Investigator Watson, who is also the Cyber Crime Investigator for Tippah County, is a member of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
