FARMINGTON — Farmington officials are in the early stages of planning an expansion of sewer service to the Pine Valley area of the city.
The Board of Aldermen have given city officials the go-ahead to continue with the preliminary steps to lay the groundwork for the expansion.
The city was eyeing a larger-scale expansion through stimulus funding, but its application was rejected. Mayor Dale Fortenberry tells The Daily Corinthian there were numerous projects competing for the available funding.
However, the city has $260,000 in funding from EPA available to use to provide sewer service.
