FARMINGTON — Expansion of sewer service to the Pine Valley area of Farmington has been completed, and the town is now seeking grant funding for additional expansion.
Mayor Dale Fortenberry told the Board of Aldermen this past week that the Pine Valley work wrapped up about six weeks ahead of schedule.
The Daily Corinthian reports the project added 40 homes to the town sewer system.
Farmington has applied for funding through the Small Municipal and Limited Population Counties Grant Program for another project that would expand service to an estimated 30 houses around County Roads 119 and 130.
Pine Valley and this area are the last identified as being in most need of sewer service in Farmington, the mayor says.
