PONTOTOC – A Saturday afternoon accident that claimed the lives of three people is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Killed in the accident on Highway 9 near Endville Road were William Scivally, 72 and his wife Doloris Scivally, 69, both of Huntsville, Ala.
The name of the third victim has not been released pending notification of the family.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Hall said the accident happened at 1:45 p.m.
A Ford pickup truck was traveling north on Highway 9 when it apparently crossed over into traffic and struck a 2010 Toyota mini-van. The Scivallys were driving the van.
After the collision both vehicles overturned and the Ford Ranger burst into flames.
