Fatal Monday accident kills motorcyclist

CORINTH – A Corinth man died Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car on U.S. Highway 72 in Corinth.
Martin Dwain Whitehurst, 63, of 924 Taylor St., was pronounced dead at Magnolia Regional Health Center after the 2:30 p.m. accident at U.S. 72 and New Hope Road near Mississippi 2 west.
Whitehurst was westbound on U.S. 72 riding a 2003 Honda when a 2002 Honda minivan pulled out in front of him and turned east.
The minivan was driven by Courtney Suzanne Wilbanks, 38, of Walnut, who complained of pain and was treated and released at MRHC.
The accident remains under investigation by the Corinth Police Department.
