The following people were arrested on felony charges during a 24-hour period ending at 5 p.m. May 6:
Tupelo City Jail
-Russell Abbott, 56, 4299 Tuscombia Road, Pontotoc, was charged with grand larceny. The jail docket showed that Abbott was released on a recognizance bond issued by Lee County Justice Court Judge Mayo Grubbs.
– Willie Bryant, 33, 1207 Kincannon St., was charged with six counts of prescription forgery. A bond had not been set for him Monday.
– Andre Deshone Green, 18, Route 6, Cayson Road, Tupelo, was charged with two counts of the sale of crack cocaine. He was in jail Monday with a bond of $15,000.
Lee County Jail
– Barbra Kirton, 38, Route 2, Saltillo, was charged late Saturday with possession of crystal methamphetamine with intent to sell and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. She was released Sunday on a bond of $25,000. Kirton was arrested after a monthlong investigation by the Lee County Vice Narcotics Task Force. Authorities said they found five small individual bags of crystal methamphetamine hidden in a BC headache packet that was in her purse.
