FEMA announces change in disaster services

CORINTH – Corinth’s regional disaster recovery center is scheduled to close after 7 p.m. June 5.
However, residents of the five-county area approved for individual assistance resulting from May 1-2 storms may continue to file claims through July 14 through the (800) 621-3362 telephone number, and to ask follow-up questions, said FEMA spokeswoman Renee Bafalis.
FEMA mitigation specialists also begin staffing public outreach booths today at Lowe’s in Corinth to offer free rebuilding and disaster assistance.
They will be at the store 10 a.m.-6 p.m. today, 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday.
The mitigation specialists will move to the Home Depot in Oxford and staff information booths 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday.
