Filings ordered to end dispute about ‘rap song’

ABERDEEN – Both sides in an Itawamba School District dispute were ordered Monday to file final arguments with federal court.
Magistrate Jerry A. Davis in Aberdeen gave 90 days to receive the documents for a judge to make a decision.
In February, student Taylor Bell and his mother Dora sued the Itawamba County School Board and others, claiming Taylor was wrongly disciplined after he posted a rap song on the Internet.
The song reportedly suggested inappropriate conduct between two athletic coaches and female students.
The school board denied the allegations and said its dealings with Taylor Bell were justified to maintain order.
