Final Lee bond forum set tonight

Education stockSHANNON – The final of three forums about the Lee County School District’s July 30 bond election will be held tonight at 6:30 in Shannon High School’s auditorium.

The forum will feature a presentation on how the district would spend the $13.5 million it would borrow to fund various construction and renovation projects throughout the district. Participants also will have an opportunity to make suggestions and ask questions.

For the bond to pass, it must get approval of 60 percent of voters. It would not raise taxes because it would replace a 1993 bond issue that expires. The district held forums at Saltillo and Mooreville High Schools last week.
