HOUSTON – An accident last week totaled a tanker truck but the firefighter driving it wasn’t injured.
The tanker, primarily used for brush fires, was totaled was taken to the city shop where the equipment was removed. The fire department submitted paperwork to the city for a replacement.
Houston fireman Jonathan Blankenship was following a routine procedure of removing the fire trucks from their bays when the brakes in the tanker truck failed.
The tanker rolled into East Madison Street and struck the side of an 18-wheeler traveling east.
