Flash flood warning for parts of Lafayette County

OXFORD – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning until 3:30 p.m. for several counties, including parts of Lafayette County.

At 12:26 p.m., Doppler radar estimates two to four inches of rainfall had occurred over the past hour. Showers and thunderstorms will produce an additional one to three inches of rain over the next three hours.

Weather and emergency officials urgently remind motorists not to drive over flooded roadways. Water may be deeper than it looks, and it can sweep vehicles off roads and into streams.
