HOUSTON – The semi-annual Flywheel Festival is on the way into town next week as tractors, engines and fans of both will make their way to Joe Brigance Park in Houston.
The festival is in its 28 year and has spent the last 20 years in Houston after being lured from Grenada. The MS Valley Flywheel Association sanctioned event has drawn tractor and flywheel engine fans from all over the state of Mississippi and surrounding states including Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama and Missouri.
Residents can expect tractors and vendors to begin coming into town late next week and setting up booths and exhibits in the park on Starkville Road. Friday, April 30 will be the first official day of the festival with engines on display and food court and vendor court open.
Saturday’s festivities will feature an anvil shoot, tractor pull, children’s pedal pull along with food and vendor courts and displays.
The popular festival will conclude Sunday morning with church services.
