For the third time in a little more than a year, a sexually related criminal charge has been levied against a Tupelo pawnbroker in a Lee County court.
John Ray Kidd, 23, whose last listed address was 114 Kimbrough St., Tupelo, was charged Saturday with rape. A $1 million bond was set by Justice Court Judge Pat Carr during Kidd’s initial court appearance Monday.
Details surrounding the alleged Friday night incident involving a 14-year-old girl were not available Monday.
Kidd has been arrested twice previously on rape charges in Lee County – once in March and once for an unrelated incident reported to authorities in August.
He was acquitted last November of raping a 15-year-old girl, who claimed she was assaulted last March at Kidd’s mother’s home.
