OXFORD – A Lafayette County grand jury has indicted former University of Mississippi administrator Ben Williams on three counts of embezzlement.

The indictment charges that Williams, who was an assistant dean of students at Ole Miss from August 2007 through December 2008, took a total of nearly $68,000 in university funds.

Williams is listed currently as director of fraternity and sorority life at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He is not the same Ben Williams who played football at Ole Miss in the 1970s.

After the indictment was returned and Williams was notified, he returned to Oxford and turned himself in at the Lafayette County Detention Center. He was released on $25,000 bond.
