SENATOBIA — A former North Mississippi Boy Scout leader has been indicted on 23 counts of sexual battery involving minors, fondling and child pornography.
The Commercial Appeal reports William Todd Brewer was indicted by the Tate County grand jury on 10 counts of child pornography, eight counts of sexual battery and five counts of fondling.
Sheriff Brad Lance said Brewer was arrested last July at his Senatobia home. Authorities said there were five male abuse victims, all under 16. None of the boys are Scouts.
Brewer oversaw Scouts in DeSoto, Panola, Tate and Tunica counties. He was fired from his job as head of the Northwest Mississippi District of the Chickasaw Council soon after his arrest.
Brewer has been in jail without bond since his arrest. No trial date has been set.
