BOONEVILLE – The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office has charged four in connection with the January burglary of the Prentiss County Tax Assessor’s Office.

Joseph Randolph Moore, 47, of Wheeler; Donna Lynn Way, 50, of Baldwyn; Steve M. Gumm, 51, of Tremont; and Gerald Christopher Guynes, 64, of Rienzi, were each charged with burglary of a building.

Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar said they expect to file more charges as the investigation is wrapped up and presented to the grand jury.

The arrests came when the Sheriff’s Office, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, charged Moore with drug and weapons charges. From Moore’s initial arrest, the other three suspects were named and investigated.

Gumm and Way each bonded out on $7,500 bonds, Moore and Guynes are still in custody.

Guynes was on federal supervision and Moore on Mississippi Department of Corrections Parole.
