Four co-defendants deny drug charges

OXFORD – Clifton Williams Jr. and Cedric Johnson pleaded not guilty in court Friday to federal charges they were part of a regional drug scheme.
Indicted last February, Williams, 55, of Aberdeen, faces four counts and Johnson, 40, of Tupelo, two counts that they conspired to possess and distribute cocaine.
They are accused with 15 others and face a Nov. 5 trial start before U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock.
Also Friday, two co-defendants waived their personal appearance and entered not-guilty pleas.
They are Cedric Cotton, 29, of Decatur, and Tasha Taylor, 37, of Okolona.
Cotton is accused on four counts and Taylor on two.
