CORINTH – A workshop scheduled for Monday is designed to help people who work with the public learn new customer service and hospitality skills.
The Alliance Community Development Council and the Corinth Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will present the free seminar for business leaders at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, beginning at 1 p.m., and followed by a bus tour.
“The bus tour will help businesses be better able to assist customers from out of town with directions or suggestions for things to do while they’re in town,” Rose said.
The registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday.
Diana O’Toole, a hospitality expert with the Mississippi Division of Tourism and the Mississippi Retirement Program, will present hows and whys of customer service and hospitality.
“Familiarizing local business withe the attractions and services Corinth has to offer will help them point people in the right direction when they come to our city as guests,” said CVB Executive Director Kristy White.
The event is being hosted by the National Park Service at the interpretive center as part of the joint venture.
The Corinth Area CVB will prepare information packets for attendees, show a short video of Corinth, then take the group on a driving tour, and finally a walking tour in Historic Downtown Corinth.
“We have about a dozen people signed up now, so there’s still room for a few more,” White said.
