Fulton Walmart robbed

By Adam Armour/The Itawamba County Times

Walmart Supercenter in Fulton was robbed Thursday night.

Details are currently scarce, but according to Fulton Police Chief Reggie Johnson, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday night, several individuals fled the city’s largest retailer after allegedly stealing an undisclosed amount of money from at least one of its cash registers.

Johnson said the suspects fled down Piercetown Road on foot.

One of the suspects was captured and is currently in custody. The police chief said investigators are looking for at least two more individuals in connection with the robbery.

Johnson said the suspects were unarmed at the time of the robbery, but worked together to cause a distraction. Police are working with Walmart’s loss prevention department to further the investigation.

“We’re still in the early stages of this thing,” Johnson said.
