GED testing available

The high school equivalency (GED) test will be given on the Tupelo campus of Itawamba Community College, May 13, 16, 20, 27, and May 30 at the Monroe County Government Complex in Amory, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Prior to testing, all persons not enrolled in an Itawamba Community College-sponsored ABE/GED class will be required to participate in a pre-registration/orientation session. Pre-registration sessions will be held each Tuesday and Thursday from 1- 4 p.m. in room 112 or from 6-9 p.m. in room 111 of the Purvis Center at the ICC Tupelo campus. Attendance at both of the sessions is required.
Persons will be admitted to testing upon successful completion of the pre-registration/orientation session and presentation of government-issued picture identification card, such as a driver’s license or passport. If the card does not include the applicant’s Social Security number, a Social Security card will be required.
Fees for testing are $40 for initial testing on all tests and $12 per test for retest.
The GED test is administered on a block schedule. All persons must register in advance to be eligible to test and pay their testing fees no later than Monday, 4 p.m. before the Wednesday or Saturday they plan to test. Testing times begin with math at 8 a.m.
