CORINTH – A man extricated from a single-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 72 late Thursday died over the weekend at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Michael Chambers, 52, of Glen, was westbound in his 1996 Buick Regal when his car left the road and overturned at the bridge near Central School Road.
The wreck was discovered about 5:15 p.m. Thursday, and emergency workers had to cut him out of the car, after which he was airlifted to NMMC-Tupelo, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Ray Hall.
Chambers apparently had a preexisting medical condition that may have led to the crash, and he died Saturday at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hall said.
