CORINTH – A Corinth police officer has been assigned to look into whether a house fire early Monday was caused by arson.
The fire occurred about 2:30 a.m. Monday at 1608 Strickland St. By the time the 12 or so firefighters arrived at the scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames. No one lived in the house.
Corinth Police Chief Fred Johnson said an investigator with his department had been asked to look into the fire because of where the fire started inside the home. There was no power running to the home.
Arson had not been ruled as a definite possibility, said Corinth Assistant Fire Chief Larry Potts.
