HATTIESBURG – A day after the team’s first preseason scrimmage, Southern Miss returned to the football practice field Sunday afternoon.
After about an hour on the practice fields, the Golden Eagles were chased inside because of lightning in the area. After a 30-minute delay, the squad went to the game field at Roberts Stadium to conclude the workout.
The Golden Eagles worked out in shoulder pads and shorts for the team’s 14th workout of summer camp. Position fundamental drills as well as corrections from the previous day’s scrimmage were the main focus.
The Golden Eagles will practice this afternoon, then have two workouts on Tuesday. Classes begin on Wednesday.
