JACKSON – Gov. Phil Bryant has called for a special session to begin at 10 a.m. Thursday to fund and to re-authorize the Division of Medicaid.
The agency that provides health care to 644,000 Mississippians is set to expire on July 1 unless the Legislature acts.
The 2013 session ended without the agency being funded or re-authorzed for the new fiscal year because of bickering over whether to expand the program as it allowed under federal law.
