BRUCE – USDA Rural Development will grant $36,569 to the town of Bruce for renovations to the Jesse Yancy Memorial Library.
The grant was one of seven Mississippi grants announced Tuesday that also include health care, police, fire protection and maintenance needs.
The Bruce grant was the only one in northeast Mississippi and was part of a $46.8 million Rural Development distribution for community facilities across 32 states and one territory.
“It is important that these rural counties have the resources to improve the quality of life for their residents,” said Trina George, USDA Rural Development director for Mississippi.
