The next NBA season is in doubt, but that didn’t stop the league from announcing its 2011-12 schedule on Tuesday.
The Memphis Grizzlies are slated to open the season on the road at the Los Angeles Clippers (Nov. 2) and Utah Jazz (Nov. 3) before opening their home schedule against Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The NBA champion Dallas Mavericks will visit the Grizzlies twice, both times on a Wednesday – Nov. 16 and Feb. 29. The runner-up Miami Heat will be in Memphis on Friday, Dec. 30.
The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day game, Jan. 16 against the Chicago Bulls, is one of four games that will be seen on ESPN.
A lockout of NBA players began on June 30. There’s concern that the entire season might be in jeopardy, although a previous lockout in 1988-89 was resolved in time to play a 50-game schedule.
