Guilty plea in 2009 Oxford deadly standoff

OXFORD — A man has pleaded guilty to the shooting and killing his half-brother and holding his father hostage in Oxford in September 2009.

The Oxford Eagle Bilethon Autry pleaded guilty this past week before Lafayette County Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth to manslaughter in the death of his brother, Charles Ray Hodges, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer during a three-hour standoff at his parents’ home in the Oxford subdivision of Grand Oaks.

For killing his half-brother, Autry was sentenced to 15 years in prison with six years suspended and nine years to serve. Autry was sentenced to an additional 15 years in prison for shooting at the police officers during the standoff.

The sentences will run consecutively.
