Guilty plea scheduled in sex offender case

ABERDEEN — A Tennessee man is scheduled to plead guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

Court records say Latarick Smith was convicted of sexual battery in 2010 in Memphis. He’s now charged with failing to register as a sex offender when he came to Mississippi.

The 26-year-old accused of failing to register from December 2011 to August 2011.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 2 in U.S. District Court in Aberdeen.
