GUNTOWN – Authorities have ruled no foul play was involved in the death of a man found Thursday in the Cedar Hill community.
An autopsy report received Friday from the state crime lab showed Rex House died as a result of hypothermia due to exposure, said Lee County Medical Examiner Roy Barnett.
House, 79, was found close to his home near a watershed lake off state Highway 341 around noon Thursday. He had been missing for two days.
Family members organized a search after House had been missing for about 15 hours. House had occasionally wander off in the past. Cedar Hill volunteer firefighters joined the search but turned up nothing during their two days of searching.
A helicopter from the North Mississippi Medical Center was called Thursday and was able to locate the body.
