GUNTOWN – In a specially called meeting Wednesday, Guntown voted Mayor Robert Herring to represent the town on a north Lee County regional wastewater committee.
Baldwyn aldermen also selected their mayor, Michael James, to serve on this committee.
The committee has been formed to rate feasibility study proposals on a regional wastewater facility.
A regional facility is being studied due to growth in north Lee County. The study will look into long-term and short-term solutions for north Lee County.
The committee, which includes Saltillo Mayor Bill Williams, is set to meet for the first time Friday at the Community Development Foundation office in Tupelo.
