Guntown runoff slated for vacated position

GUNTOWN – Residents voted in a special election for a vacated city alderman seat Tuesday.
With no one winning by one vote over 50 percent, the top two candidates, Jeff Herring and Chad McMahan, will be involved in a runoff election on July 26.
Registered Guntown residents can vote at the community center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
McMahan received the most votes with 85, but Herring was close with 84, the third and only other candidate, Hugh Harris, received 57 votes.
