TUPELO – Police Chief Tony Carleton said Deputy Chief Robert Hall will not meet with the Board of Standards and Training today.
Carleton said Hall will attend the board’s November meeting in Jackson in an attempt to regain his law enforcement certificate. The city’s request for Hall’s certificate was rejected last week. Hall must now plead his case to the Board of Standards and Training.
If he fails to regain his certificate at that hearing, then he will have to appeal his case to Circuit Court.
Hall lost his certification when he resigned from the department in 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges.
