Hearing slated for change of plea in Dutschke case

OXFORD – A hearing in which James Everett Dutschke is slated to change his plea is scheduled for Friday.

A notice for the hearing was filed today and said the purpose is for a change of plea on counts one, two, three and four in his indictment. Dutschke had previously pleaded not guilty on those counts.

The first count in the indictment is for possessing and delivering ricin, a poisonous substance. The following three counts are for mailing the ricing to President Barack Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker and Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.

The notice of hearing was filed Thursday and slated for Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the United States Northern District Court of Mississippi in Oxford.
