TUPELO – Hearings have been set on two of the sexual fondling charges against James Everett Dutschke.

Dutschke, a 42-year-old former Tupelo martial arts instructor, is in federal custody in Oxford on charges of sending ricin-laden letters to President Barrack Obama and other elected officials and attempting to frame another man for the crimes.

The two hearings will be Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The hearings will determine if forensic interviewers can testify as to what minors told them regarding the alleged fondlings. The hearing will also determine if the forensic interviews will be allowed to be submitted as evidence in the trial.

Dutschke is accused of fondling three girls under the ages of 16. The cases were originally slated to go to trial during Lee County’s November term of circuit court.

Dutschke’s federal trial is set for May 27.

He he has pleaded not guilty to federal and state charges.
