The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced Thursday a lane closure on Highway 145 at the Green Street intersection with new Highway 6.
Beginning Friday, MDOT will begin phase three of the reconstruction of the intersection.
Approximately one-half of a mile of the outside southbound lane through the intersection will be closed for approximately three months to allow reconstruction of the outside southbound lane.
This includes the widening of roadway for the addition of another lane, as well as the installation of drainage structures along the new roadway. The northbound lanes will continue operating as normal. Traffic delays are to be expected. MDOT will update motorists of lane closures as work continues.
This $26 million project was awarded to APAC-Mississippi, Inc.
