TUPELO – Christmas may be history, but the party’s still going at HealthWorks!
Through Saturday, the Tupelo children’s health education center – located at the corner of Robert E. Lee and Industrial drives – will have special activities planned for children and their grown ups to beat the holiday break doldrums that can leave folks feeling funky.
“It’s an excuse to get out of the house, stay out of the cold and have a really good time,” said Emily Guyton, who organizes special events for HealthWorks!
All of the activities are included in the HealthWorks! regular admission price – $5 a person; free to members and children under 2.
Today, there will be an inflatable obstacle course and dance contest for kids and their families to enjoy. Limited slots may still may still be available for the Drop and Shop program, where kids can be supervised for a fun day for $25. Thursday will feature a “Snow Day” with snowball fights, ice skating HealthWorks! style, dog sled races and Snow-tillas.
On Friday, there will be snowman relay and a chance to build an igloo. The fun will culminate with a “Noon” Year’s Celebration so families can party like it’s 2013. “We’ll actually have a countdown to noon on Saturday,” said Stacy Loden, HealthWorks! manager.
The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Closed holidays. Call (662) 377-5437 for more information.
