Holly Springs employee pleads guilty to embezzlement

HOLLY SPRINGS – State Auditor Stacey Pickering has issued a demand against Denise Gleeton, former secretary for the Intermediate School in Holly Springs.
Gleeton pled guilty to embezzlement of $7,735.47 on Aug. 5. During school years 2007-2009, $4,673.75 of activity funds was collected and receipted by Gleeton but was not deposited into the activity fund’s bank account.
Gleeton was hired as a school clerk in Holly Springs in 1995, and served as a secretary to several principals for about 15 years. She resigned on July 23, 2009. Gleeton has been sentenced to five years probation.
