Making things that make people smile is at the heart of Joyce Clark’s work.
She has owned Clark’s Parish Street Florist for 14 years and has made the arrangements and gifts and then delivered them to her customers and friends around the community.
“I love my work and it can be hectic because we work hard to get it just right and delivered at just the right time,” said Clark. “I love it when a customer looks at what we’ve done and thanks us.”
Flowers are a key part of Clark’s business but the business also offers candles, wreaths, cards, gift bears, potpourri, Russell Stover candy, memorial books, balloons, purses and caps.
It also carries a large variety of ribbons and bows to tailor each arrangement or gift for someone special. They offer arrangements in with fresh-cut and silk flowers.
The business also provides flowers for local churches and civic events, too.
In addition, Clark’s has plants and the lighted solar-powered cemetery markers shaped like a cross, angel or the Bible.
And Clark’s Parish Street Florist is a family affair.
Joyce works with her daughters Connie Rucker, Patty Turman and Susie Baynham. They were recently joined by grand-daughter Brittney Baynham.
