TUPELO – Children and adults of all ages get an opportunity to jump, twist and turn at Spider Jump, an activity that brings smiles and laughter to participants and watchers alike.

Spider Jump is nestled in front of the interior entrance of Dick’s Sporting Goods at The Mall at Barnes Crossing.

Customers are connected with a harness and Bungee cord-like ropes to the metal arms. They then jump off small trampolines, which when combined with the elastic cords and harness, allow customers to go high in the air and perform aerial maneuvers.

Co-owner Tabitha Walls has managed Spider Jump since it opened, and she and husband Brian bought the business this month.

“We have a great customer base. … and we have employees who have been here and know them,” Brian Walls said.

As new owners, the Walls plan to offer more promotions and events, including a customer appreciation day on Saturday that features discounted rates, free snacks and prizes.

They also will begin having birthday parties, with customers having the chance to rent the entire jump unit.

In April, they plan to host events to honor local schools, offering students discounted rates and returning a portion of the sales to the schools

“We’re doing more promotions, and we want more people to try it for the first time,” Brian Walls said. “It’s very enjoyable. You just have to take that first step.”
