NEW ALBANY – Local and federal law enforcement officials in Union County on Tuesday night arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a Memphis homicide.
Michael Bonsky, 27, of Memphis, was arrested without incident at the New Albany Walmart about 8 p.m. He was turned over to DeSoto County authorities, who will keep him in custody for probation violation. In addition to the Memphis case, Bonsky was also wanted by officials in Tunica County, where he is suspected of armed robbery.
“We had a tip that led us to believe he was in this area,” said Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards. “I’m glad we got him before something happened here in our county.”
After discovering the suspect was staying at local motel, authorities secured a search warrant and discovered evidence that they turned over to Tunica County authorities, Edwards added.
