The honor guard stands at attention around the casket of Sgt. 1st Class Billy Sutton at Tupelo Regional Airport. Sutton died in Afghanistan from natural causes while on his third tour of duty with the Mississippi National Guard. He was a platoon leader with the 288th Sapper Company out of Houston. The 42-year-old soldier from Mooreville grew up in the Baldwyn area and was a 1987 graduate of Baldwyn High School. Visitation for Sutton will be Friday and a life celebration with full military honors will be Saturday morning at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park in Verona.
