PLANTERSVILLE – A house fire on Highway 6 late Monday in Plantersvile caused the road to be shut down for almost an hour while volunteer firemen worked to douse the blaze.
According to officials, no one was injured in the fire, which happened at a home across Highway 6 from Riverbirch Resident Assisted Living. Firemen from Richmond, Plantersville and Union volunteer departments responded.
Vehicles trying to pass in both directions lined the side of the road as firemen worked.
According to a fireman on the scene, the house never was fully engulfed and was not a total loss.
It is unclear if anyone was in the home at the time of the fire, which was called in shortly after 10 p.m.
